Summary:
Develops and enhances customer relations through the planning and direction of activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
Education and experience:
- BS in Engineering, BS in Math, or Equivalent Experience
Primary functions:
- Complete Detailed PPAP’s, FAIR’s and other inspections.
- Track and facilitate MRB activity, corrective actions, and return goods. Work with other departments, customers, and suppliers to find root causes and corrections.
- Analyze and resolve quality issues. Work in 6-Sigma teams
- Track and facilitate return goods. Work with other departments, customers, and suppliers to find root causes and corrections.
- Maintain calibration log, including tracking tools, scheduling recalibrations, and documenting status.
- Conduct measurement system analysis (MSA) for inspection processes and equipment to verify reliability and accuracy.
- All work to be completed within the framework of the AS9100 Quality System.
- Complete other functions as assigned.
Specific functions:
- PPAP FAI’s require advanced GD&T skills.
- Work with Engineering to Develop Inspection plans, CMM programs, and Routers for final production use.
- Plan Yearly AS9100 Internal Audit schedule - lead other internal auditors and complete the schedule.
- Review customer purchase orders for flowdown requirements, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Develop and improve the defect definition and training plan for visual and measurable defects.
- Create and update detailed inspection plans, including programming for optical inspection equipment and coordinating with inspectors.
Leadership responsibilities:
- Use Quality knowledge and experience to develop Quality Techs.
- Work professionally with other departments at all employee levels

Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Math or related technical field or the equivalent in practical experience and specialized training.
- Three to Five (3-5) years overall experience in manufacturing or a related field (emphasis in rubber a plus), with direct experience in inspection and quality assurance (1-3).
- Must have broad and in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques, quality assurance, technology, and be computer literate.
- Ability to relate and interact effectively with various levels of the organization and customers. Ability to move freely around the facility.
- Some travel required. (approx. 5%).
