Job Summary

The Spring Cover and Table operations consist of applying a liquid substance on areas of rubber packing and operating a dispensing machine with an attached glue gun holding the spring rubber packing in the spring groove. Position operates a foot table control to spin packing while applying glue and curing product in oven. Operating a De-burring machine and the use of measurement devices to complete visual inspections of metal clad and rubber products.

 

  • (2) first shift positions open. Training may occur on the first shift. Shift premium for second shift. This is a union position.

 

This position will report to the Shift Supervisor.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operate rotating epoxy dispensing machine and post curing ovens safely, accurately, and efficiently using Work Instructions.
  • Setup and operate auto and manual De-Burr machines safely, accurately, and efficiently using Work Instructions
  • Application of liquid substance into Spring Groove
  • Read, understand and follow job specific Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Measuring Dimensions of product with Pi-Tape and Pull Test Gauge.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, visually inspecting critical areas of the Rubber Seals for any types of defects that could cause failure.
  • Utilization of the Visual Defect Guide to help determine a good from bad part.
  • Responsible for completing daily production logs.
  • Wear required PPE: hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes. Other areas may also have job-related PPE such as gloves and/or sleeves and will be provided.
  • Maintain proper daily maintenance and housekeeping of machines using ‘Five S’ Lean concepts - sort, set in order, shine, standardize.
  • Ability to Travel for 2 weeks at a time to Salt Lake City for initial training is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred; specialized training or certification a plus
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in the common language (English)
  • Basic Computer and Math skills required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant movement and standing for the duration of the shift
  • Able to sit, walk, bend, reach & pull, lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to use repetitive motion in hands, arms, and wrists
  • Must have good manual dexterity skills and coordination
  • Exposure to factory work environment
  • Good visual and hearing acuity
