Job Summary:
This unique position will serve as the direct technical support for the Metrology function and in addition, support Procurement Quality.

Our production group, technologies, & products are at the heart of aerospace industry and the world’s leading aircraft jet engine & gearbox manufacturers at our Falconer, NY location.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support directly to metrology technicians
- Lead the investigating, purchasing and implementation of new measurement systems for manufacturing
- Author step by step setup and inspection procedures for newly introduced measurement technology
- Training on metrology systems for new hires
- Leading metrology related projects and to ensure a smooth hand-off with manufacturing
- Manage the calibration of various gages and associated calibration work instructions in accordance to industry standards including ISO 17025
- Improving procurement quality through receiving inspection, supplier involvement and internal systems
- Will maintain the PQE function; initiate, review and follow-up on corrective actions to vendors conduct vendor audits and will work with vendors on Continuous Improvement activities
- Will support ISO Certification efforts and be active in registration and surveillance audits and resolution of purchasing related issues
Job Education and Requirements:
- Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering field and/or 3+ years hands on experience
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Access, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Candidate must be able to work in a team-based environment
